Dion Horstmans is a prominent sculptor, recognised for his ability to utilise elements of shadow and silhouette. Dion’s trademark shadow is reoccurring, whether it begins with a single cell, repeating its structure through light; or playing with background colours, enabling them to melt to their surroundings. Dion practices enviable restraint, only ever allowing the original cell to depart slightly, back and forth through it’s own shadow. You can find Dion’s work gracing the sky in the Boheme building located in Bondi. Dion is also a veteran to Sculpture by the Sea, a space where his work comes to life. The outdoor setting allows each crevice of the sculpture to fill with vibrancy and light, truly magic.
